Charlotte’s biggest country radio station 1037 WSOC has just named Christian Kane as the Best New Artist!
Christian Kane is an actor who plays a lead role in the hit TNT series “Leverage” and has appeared in the past on such hit shows as “Angel.” But acting is not his only talent.
Kane is a longtime country music singer with his band Kane which blend country with a hard charging dash of rock and have been thrilling audiences for years. Fans of Christian Kane are known as “Kaniacs” for their devotion to the handsome soul-country singing star.
Kane first became widely known to fans as an actor, playing the character of Lindsay McDonal, an evil lawyer on the hit cult show “Angel” about an avenging vampire with a soul. After that he joined the cast of the hit show “Leverage” which has maintained high ratings on TNT and given him increased exposure.
But Kane has always said his first love is country music. When I spoke to him at the December album launch for “The House Rules” he told me that hollywood was a place where he was paid to lie, but country music was a forum in which he could tell the truth.
That truth includes a lot of hard rocking country songs about drinking and parties along with some emotional ballads about love gained and lost.
Kane beat out country singer Jason Michael Caroll in the WSOC radio station fan vote.
Kane released “The House Rules,” his first big studio album, last December to rave reviews as a hot newcomer to the country music scene. He has put out two singles form the album, the title track and his new single “Let Me Go.”
